PTA
The role of the PTA
The main role of the PTA is to build strong working relationships among parents, teachers and schools in support of students.
- This can include recruiting and coordinating volunteers from parent communities
- Organizing activities that would involve parents, students and neighborhood.
- PTA will work with the school to decide jointly which programs will most benefit the school.
- PTA meetings serve as venues for discussions about a variety of educational issues, building better relationships with communities or share important information about school reform initiatives.
- The PTA should be a neutral forum for resolving conflicts that sometimes occur in schools.
During the second PTA meeting on 17th July three major projects were planned for this year:
ENVIRONMENT
Planting seeds and saplings in and around Silvermount.
COMMUNITY
Instaling water purifier in Anganwadi.
CHARITY
Collection of clothes to Uttarakand flood victims.
The planning has just begun and we are confident that these projects will flag on in August with the joint effort by the PTA and school.
