Assessment is continuous and comprehensive.

The assessment covers both scholastic and co-scholastic aspects and is carried out over the two terms, Term 1 ( June to October) and Term 2 (November – March) by means of formative and summative assessments using a variety of tests and assignments. For the purpose of teaching and assessment, the syllabus for different subjects is bifurcated for the two terms.

There will be Formative Assessments every month, with a weighting of 10% each. There are two Summative Assessments SA1 with a weighting of 80% and SA2 with the weighting of 60%.

  • First Term : 20 % of the formative assessments and 80% of the summative assessment =100%
  • Second Term : 20% of the formative assessment + 20% of Learnometer * + 60% of Summative assessment = 100%
  • Grades 8 and 9 will have practical marks added instead of learnometer*

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT: is carried through using multiple modes of assessment such as assignments, quizzes, debates, group discussions, projects. All projects and assignments are done as group activities within the class and school time only. Each subject has one paper pencil test under Formative Assessment each month. The other modes of assessment are a part of classroom interactive activities.

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT: is a written, end of the term examination conducted in October and March which may consist of objective type, short answer and long answer questions.
